July Social Meeting

Our July meeting will take place on 3rd July at Wivenhoe Sailing Club
8pm
Do join us for a chat with a very reasonably priced bar.

There will NOT be an August meeting as we should all be busy sailing / boating!

This is also a reminder that we have our second sailing event on our
calendar this month. After a brilliant cruise to Tollesbury on June
17th we now look forward to our CRUISE TO HEYBRIDGE. We are booked in
at Heybridge basin on Saturday 22nd July. Those boats going should let
Dave Hayes know boat name, length and beam, also how many people will
be eating dinner at the Jolly Sailor.

Hope to see you on Monday

First Cruise of the season

The Tollesbury cruise is on Saturday 17th June. Make sure Dave Hayes knows if you are joining us. He will need boat name, length and beam. He will then book marina berths for us and will make sure we know where they are.

A menu will be available soon and those people that are coming to Tollesbury will receive a menu and be required to order food in advance.

Dave is keen to have boats committing to Heybridge ( 22nd July) and Bradwell (23rd September) too.

Members of Wivenhoe and Rowhedge Cruising association are most welcome to join all ACBOC rallies. Just let Dave Hayes know. Let’s have a good turn out and a good few weekends. Road attendees are always welcome.

The Gooseberry Pie rally is an event we at ACBOC are also invited to Organised by Wivenhoe and Rowhedge Cruising Association. It will take place on 5th August and moorings are arranged at West Mersea where we are ferried ashore to the packing sheds for a DIY barbecue or picnic.
If you are interested in joining this rally, please contact Tim Stokes. timstokes0890@hotmail.co.uk
( This is well worth going to )

Plan your summer sailing.

Slip Clearing Sunday 30th April

Hi to all ACBOC members,
The slip at the creek needs a good sweep / dig out of the mud. We try to do this every year so that the launching of canoes, paddle boards etc is less of a muddy experience. ( we even apply for a licence to do this)
Slip cleaning needs to start at 8.30 am as the tide turns about then.

8.30       Meet at the creek with stiff broom if you have one.
11.00    Coffee and donuts
11.30    Tackling a few of the jobs off the jobs list (attached)
1.00      Bacon and sausage butties

Anyone that wants to tackle a particular job, should let me know so that any costing can be covered.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP OUT AS I NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY
SAUSAGES AND BACON RASHERS TO BUY.

Brenda
