Date MONDAY 17th January. Time 19:30 (7.30pm)

We do need to supply numbers and so if you would like to come please let DAVE HAYES know.

It will be nice to get back to normal, so do join us, put it on your calendar and contact Dave.

December meeting

Happily we can still meet at WSC  on Monday 6th December at 7.45
This is the last meeting of 2021 and our next meeting will be 7 th February.
There will be a few festive nibbles provided to help the evening on its way, but as Omicron is looming over us, it would be sensible to do a lateral flow test before attending.
Looking forward to seeing you there

Social meetings resume

Our social meetings can recommence from next Monday 1st of November at the Wivenhoe Sailing Club in Wivenhoe at 19.45hrs

Please do a COVID  lateral flow test on the day or the day before to check you cannot spread Covid to other members. The infection rates are very high at the moment.

It will be so nice to meet up again after such a long layoff.

Hopefully we will see some of our new members who have been unaware of our past meetings. Do come along and share success stories (and others) from this last season.

MEETINGS HELD ON THE FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH AT WSC at 19.45hrs.

Regards, Brenda McKee. (ACBO Secretary)

Moorings & Working party 6th November

MOORING PLANS

ACBO intends to buy the materials for laying 6 fore and aft moorings in the creek. The cost is going to be £580 per fore and aft mooring.

ACBO will contribute to this cost £150 thus reducing the cost to £430. This includes the sinker attached to 1.5m chain that attaches to rope up to the surface that attaches to the mooring buoy, It also includes the cost of burying the sinker. The strops that attach the boat to the buoy are NOT included in this.

If you are interested in paying for one of these newly laid moorings, please let us know. Once the mooring is in use by you, the sole responsibility for maintenance will be down to you. This is the case even though ACBO has supplied the materials and commissioned the laying of the mooring.

The reason for this decision is that many moorings are falling into disrepair, and some have disappeared completely. This may seem like a big outlay, but for 10 years peace of mind, and a secure mooring, it works out at £43 per year.

WORKING PARTY PLANS

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 6th 2021         11am until dark!

There will be refreshments at coffee break, and lunch break, and the bonfire will be lit later when bacon and sausage rolls provided. This is to dispose of the accumulated pile at the back of the West shed.
