Kindred Clubs

As longer standing members will be aware, there is a tradition of mutual support between the various clubs on the Wallet. This is one of the reasons we are able to hold our meetings in the Wivenhoe sailing club on the first Monday.

This is just a reminder that members are cordially invited to participate in the various cruises organised by WSC. The next scheduled event is to the backwaters at the beginning of June.

The calendar of events can be found here. http://www.wivenhoesailing.org.uk/what-is-on

ACBOC Sheds working party

SATURDAY 28th April 9.00AM is a working party day to take place at the sheds at the creek. This year we are proposing 3 days on the calendar, 2 at the end of the season, and this one fast approaching.

The plan is to tidy up indoors and outdoors so that the sheds and the surrounding area can be used in the most advantageous way, for boat storage, renovation, launching and laying up.

Jobs that will be happening are:

Completely clearing out the middle shed.
Wiring work has been going on throughout the winter and there is still more cable clipping to do inside.
Hedges and brambles will need to be hacked back again, before they completely overgrow last years efforts. Also a quantity of hard core needs to be moved.

If you can help on this day, it may well be helpful if you bring what you need for the jobs E.g. PPE, Barrows, snips, working gloves etc. There is a limited range of tools on site.

BACON BUTTIES WILL BE SERVED AS REWARD!!!! at 11.30 ish
Hope to see you there.

2018 calendar

My apologies for an error in the original version of the calendar. The AGM will take place on the first Monday in OCTOBER, which is 1st OCTOBER 2018.

This has now been corrected on the website where the calendar appears under the events tab.

I hope this error hasn’t caused inconvenience. The AGM will be announced prior to the meeting as a reminder.

Events

Shortly a calendar of ACBO events this season will be sent to members and published on this site.

The  first event will be “ Working parties at the boat sheds”. This is scheduled for Saturday 28th April. A reminder will go out and “food and beverage” will be provided at the sheds. Anyone who can bring a trailer to this event to assist with rubbish removal, it will be greatly appreciated.

A list of jobs is on the shed noticeboard (inside), and continued work on this list is what is planned.

April Meeting

The social meeting at Wivenhoe Sailing Club that takes place on the 1st Monday of each month, will take place on 2nd April 8.pm. The meeting will take the form of an update to all members from the most recent ACBOC meeting, an opportunity to put suggestions in the suggestion box for discussion at the next meeting, and an opportunity to socialise with ACBO members.

Membership Matters

Renewal of membership, and moorings payments are now overdue. If you haven’t already done so, please pay either by electronic transfer to the account shown on the form, or of course money or cheque to Paul Killick.

On renewal, you must fill in a form with details of your contact numbers, email, address, and details of your current boat insurance. It is important that we can contact you when necessary, and rest assured that none of your details will be passed on to third parties without your consent.
